Today, our maths warm up turned into a whole lesson as we investigated Magic Squares. Magic squares are 9 numbers laid out in rows or columns of 3 where every row, column or diagonal adds up to the same number; for us it was 15. First, we completed a partially full Magic Square. This took us only seconds as we had to work out the difference and put the numbers in. Next, we started with a blank square and had to put in the digits 0-9 so that the Magic Square's total was 15. This was harder but these 6 children were the first to manage it. What do you notice about their squares?
