Multi Sensory Locational Writing - Entering King Tut's Tomb 4CP

We have been doing some MSLW, here are some snippets of the children's shared learning.

Erin and Tallie
I smelt the musty air rushing up to my face, it nearly blew me away.

Kaitlyn
I could hear the ancient people from The Valley of the Kings calling me as I went further and further into the tomb.

Max and Jacob
As Howard Carter went into the tomb of Tutankhamen he saw desecrated artefacts, they glimmered in front of him.

Harry and Jack
As I slowly walked through the door I heard the ancient doors creak as soft as a mermaids call.

Olivia, Charlotte and Sienna
As we walked down the deep, steep stairs we came across an ancient, rusty, dusty door.

Vishal and Katie
Anxiously I slowly strolled down the damp, cold, steep steps and came across a giant worn out door with a mysterious, grey rope.

Annaliese and Kyira
As I walked into Tutankhamen’s tomb I was speechless because gold treasures surrounded me.

Rania and Sam
Suddenly, I heard the rusty, ancient door creak like a haunted house.

Ben
I can see a very dark, gloomy room.

Ethan and Halle
As I opened the cold door I could see gold, silver and shiny treasures surrounding Tutankhamen. I was so amazed.

Maisy and Daniel
As we entered the huge, musty burial chamber there were petrifying threadbare artefacts.

Zoe and Morgan
I could smell the burning candle through the door.

Jack and Tom
After years of working really hard I finally got this moment to go down the steps and there I saw the awesome, amazing, spectacular Tutankhamen’s tomb.

Jasmine and Nyle
Just before I entered Tutankhamen’s dusty, ancient tomb I was delirious with excitement.

Charlie
As I waddled precariously down the deep 16 steps I realised about 5 astonishing, astounding artefacts.

Rachel
My candle quivered in the threadbare tomb.

Joe
When I reached the bottom of the steps I was flummoxed with the style of the lock.

  1. WOW! This is super writing from 4CP. I loved the fact that most children used 2 adjectives to describe each noun. Harry and Jack wrote an original and evocative simile. Ethan and Halle's used a short sentence for dramatic effect. The high level vocabulary from Max and Jacob (desecrated artefacts) was also a favourite sentence of mine. However, Vishal and Katie's fronted adverbial phrase (Anxiously I slowly strolled..) gave me shivers as I imagined myself entering King Tut's tomb. Well done!
